✨ 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐧𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐢𝐝𝐬 ✨

Afgelopen dinsdag mocht ik samen met mijn collega Wendy aanwezig zijn bij het event Recruitment Unicorns on Steroids, met zo’n 400 recruiters en HR-professionals.
Stiekem vind ik zulke events altijd best spannend om naartoe te gaan, maar het is ook ontzettend leuk en leerzaam om dit samen met een collega mee te maken. Vier ogen zien meer dan twee. 👀
We werden volledig meegenomen in inspirerende talks over o.a. werkenbij-websites, storytelling, Gen-Z, skill-based recruitment en een recruitment kennis quiz.
Dankbaar dat ik op uitnodiging van Getnoticed hierbij aanwezig mocht zijn. 🙏

De sessie van Dirk Driessen (Getnoticed) over de toekomst van werkenbij-websites in 2025, 2035 en 2045 was een enorm inspirerend, een klein kijkje in de toekomst, zonder uiteraard de toekomst te voorspellen. 

De talk over storytelling door Martin Koolhoven gaf mij een compleet nieuwe kijk op hoe verhalen in film worden opgebouwd, iets waar ik nooit eerder bij stil heb gestaan. Het zette me echt aan het denken over employer branding en het vertellen van een werkgeversverhaal dat raakt. 🎬

Ook leerde ik een nieuwe afkorting die ik zeker ga meenemen in mijn werk: KLOOI
 👉 Keuzes maken – Lef – Open minded – Omdenken – Innovatie
 Zoals dagvoorzitter Nicol Tadema zei: “Vandaag gaan we aanklooien.” En zo voelde het vrijuit leren, inspireren en experimenteren.

Elke spreker liet een krachtige quote achter om nog eens extra over na te denken. Een aantal van deze quotes waren:

De middag was leerzaam, motiverend en vol nieuwe inspiratie, waarmee ik samen met mijn team verder aan de slag ga.

Veel inzichten sluiten mooi aan bij waar we bij Ipse de Bruggen dagelijks aan werken binnen ‘Jij Bent Nodig’: echtheid, emotie en ruimte voor ieders talent. Het bevestigde opnieuw hoe belangrijk het is om verhalen te vertellen die raken en collega's echt te zien. 💜

Mark-Paul Buckingham is a multi-exit founder, PhD engineer, chair of a mental health charity, and a man who has spent his entire career building things the world wasn't ready for yet. 

The suspension system he developed in 2001 turned up in Audis in 2015. The wireless charging technology he built in 2008 is now everywhere. He designed the isolated power tool handle used across the industry. He didn't get to capitalise on most of it:  the patents lapsed, the market wasn't there, the timing was wrong.

But that's only part of the story. What this conversation really gets into is what two decades of that relentless pace, four hours of sleep a night, carrying everything alone, wearing a face for the world while quietly falling apart,  eventually did to him.

In his early forties, after years of pushing through, Mark-Paul hit the wall. Not burnout as a term you put in a LinkedIn post. "Full blown darkness. Not wanting to be around". He describes being there in body but completely gone mentally:  a man who could step back from any business decision with cold clarity, but who was entirely blind to what was happening inside himself until it was too late.

Mark-Paul Buckingham is a serial entrepreneur, engineer, and inventor who has spent over two decades building technology that was consistently ahead of its time.

Lin Qing casually opens a bottle of ice-cold cola, takes a sip, and feels a sense of satisfaction, as if he has reached the pinnacle of life.

However, at that very moment—BOOM! A sudden, deafening explosion erupts, the entire cruise ship shakes violently, and then begins to rock wildly.

The pool water instantly surged into a giant wave, sending the unsuspecting girls tumbling about. Screams, gasps, and the sound of heavy objects falling mingled together.

Zhang Ye stared at the Wolf Demon before him; the shock in his eyes quickly gave way to calm. A smile curled at the corners of his mouth as a battle-lust boiled within him.

The next instant, he drew the heavy, hexagonal-headed hammer he had been carrying on his back. Pointing it directly at the Wolf Demon, he then strode purposefully toward the creature, hammer in hand.

Thoroughly provoked by Zhang Ye’s actions, the Wolf Demon let out a roaring bellow. It immediately transformed into a black blur, weaving left and right as it charged toward Zhang Ye at a speed almost too fast for the naked eye to track—clearly attempting to disorient him with its movements.

Zhang Ye stood his ground, motionless, yet his eyes darted rapidly, remaining locked onto the Wolf Demon’s figure at all times.

The moment the Wolf Demon reached his flank and lunged, Zhang Ye reacted without the slightest hesitation. Twisting his waist, his veins bulging with exertion, he swung his heavy hammer. It tore through the air with a whistling shriek, aiming straight for the Wolf Demon’s head.

Clang! A deafening crash rang out, accompanied by a shower of sparks. The Wolf Demon was left reeling, dazed by the impact, and sent flying backward. Zhang Ye did not let this rare opportunity slip away; he seized the moment to strike a killing blow while his enemy was vulnerable.

He sprinted swiftly to the Wolf Demon’s side; the creature lay sprawled on the ground, its senses still reeling from the previous blow. Zhang Ye aimed his heavy hammer at the Wolf Demon once more, then—like a heavy artillery cannon—brought it crashing down with crushing force upon the creature’s abdomen! BOOM! The ground trembled, and a cloud of dust and smoke billowed into the air. After delivering several consecutive blows, a massive crater opened up before Zhang Ye. Within it, the body of the Wolf Demon lay mangled and unrecognizable—a lifeless corpse utterly devoid of breath.

Zhang Ye planted the blood-stained head of his heavy hammer into the ground, resting one hand on its shaft. With a rolled cigarette dangling from his lips, he gazed down at the Wolf Demon’s corpse in the deep pit. He took a deep drag, slowly exhaled a plume of smoke, and a satisfied smile spread across his face.

He had once been a formidable mercenary hailing from a post-apocalyptic wasteland. However, following an accidental reincarnation amidst a nuclear blast, he found himself transported to a Western-style fantasy world—a realm where sword and sorcery coexisted, diverse races mingled, and the constant threat of monsters and beasts loomed large.

Moreover, he had awakened the bloodline of the Giants—an innate power that endowed him with superhuman strength, alongside extraordinary defensive capabilities and rapid regenerative abilities.

Since fate had granted Zhang Ye this second chance at life, he resolved to harness the combat expertise honed during his past life as a mercenary. By combining that experience with the inherent power of his awakened bloodline, he would grow stronger step by step, until he stood at the very pinnacle of this new world!

Having gone so long without a smoke, Zhang Ye felt a momentary jolt of unfamiliarity with that first drag; he nearly choked and coughed it all up. Fortunately, he managed to forcibly suppress the urge, using the smoke to steady his breath—thereby narrowly avoiding the ruin of his perfectly executed "cool guy" moment.

Daarnaast won één van de deelnemers een 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁 𝗔𝘂𝗱𝗶𝘁 als mooi cadeau,
want wie hard werkt aan groei, verdient natuurlijk een optimale candidate flow. 💯 
Zo’n strategisch marketingcadeau, daarover waren wij en de Sint eensgezind:
